HBA/CNA/NIC Firmware Engineers (Principal Engr/Sr Staff Engr, Staff Engr, Sr Sw Engr, Sw Engr)

 

Multiple positions for developing next generation PCIe Gen3 bus based adapters. These are high performance, multi-protocol CNA Ethernet, iSCSI, FCoE adapters for networking and storage. These will have advanced protocol offload and network acceleration (NX) engines.

 

Location: San Francisco Bay Area
 
Required skills & experiences:

  • C programming, PCIe bus, storage Protocol (FCoE, iSCSI), networking Protocols (Ethernet, IP, TCP), HW/SW programming and device driver experiences are essential.
  • Experience with logic analyzers such as PCIe bus analyzer, Xgig protocol analyzer is desireable.

Start date immediate/ASAP

Some of the positions are for Storage and Archival products (storage, storage network) development, their enhancement and maintenance activities. They would be expected to perform the following tasks:

•    Design, develop and test software/hardware components

•    Address bugs/defects found in the field
•    Provide patches, interim builds, and post-GA maintenance releases to address customer issues
•    Develop additional tools and infrastructure to enable product supportability

 There are additional positions for people with skills in system programming, system software, device driver, embedded systems, hardware accelerator and ethernet interface, FCoE, iSCSCI, file systems development.

 

Desirable skills, education and experiences in atleast some of the following areas:

•    Design, development, testing skills in any of these areas - RTOS (VxWorks, LynxOS, QNX), system programming, system software, OS kernel, device driver (Linux/Win), embedded systems, hardware accelerator

•    Python, Perl, C / C++

•    BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical degree is desired

•    Storage / Systems engineering background with technical skills and hands on engineering experience in one or more of the following:  (a) networking, (b) storage, (c) file systems.

•    SSD block level transactions.

•    Experience in enterprise systems and their deployment in production environment.

•    Strong Unix / Linux system administration skills.  Windows systems administration skills are a plus.

•    Experience with network packet capture and analysis along with an understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 protocols

•    Preferably 4+ years of experience for more senior candidates, but less experienced candidates will be also considered.
